A small road leads into the desert from US 50. After a couple of miles, there is an abandoned gas station. Under the station lies one of many secret high-tech laboratories that makes Area 51 look like a kindergarten. Communication with RS-45XI has been lost.

Your mission is: Gain entrance, find the reason for the communication blackout, retrieve all research material and shut down the facility.

Power is out, dark and silent, not even the hum from the ventilation system.

The Shaft is a big thing in a small package and the package is very attractive. It's layout is easy to follow for any referee and it's densely packed content guarantees lulls in the action will be sparse.

The theming of the mission does a good job of balancing the paranormal and the grounded, which makes the enemies and threats all the more impactful. A new take on a "crafting" system also gives players a tempting choice to risk danger to gather materials for useful weapons and tools.

This would be a great fit for any FIST table and would be a useful intro for a beginner referee.

The Shaft is a FIST module about descending into a lightless underground facility.

The PDF is 2 pages, with an extremely polished layout and a useful, technical-looking map.

Contents-wise, this is a mission that leans on the GM's description and pacing. The environment is scary, but only if you take your time with it. The module's monsters (cosmic debris from elsewhere) aren't a huge threat, but they do establish tone and make it clear that the facility *is* dangerous.

Overall, if you want a more somber, survival-horror-y FIST experience, or if you want to run FIST for a new group, I'd strongly recommend giving this a look. With some conversion, I think it could also work as a fairly deadly Delta Green scenario.

Thank you for writing it!

This hidden underground lab leaflet/pamphlet adventure for FIST packs a lot into 2 sides of a page. There's a crafting system, enemies, and (fairly gore-y) things to discover in the facility. Your objective is clear, but there are a few different ways to achieve it, leaving freedom for the players and referee to explore and create their own take on how to resolve it. The layout and style are clear, on-theme and easy to follow.
